BAROX at the FRUITMARKET Gallery's BOOKMARKET

BAROX is an investigation into fair grounds, beach promenades, arcades and fruit machines and incorporates one of the original machines from Portobello Beach in the 1960’s.

BAROX was created by David Faithfull for the ‘Sum of Parts’ Exhibition at the Fruitmarket in 2000.

To celebrate the 25 year anniversary, gallery visitors are again invited to play the machine and record the resulting combinations on the supplied BAROX souvenir cards with the corresponding BAROX rubber stamps.

Any ‘Jackpot’ results will additionally win the player an original BAROX printed sheet, which they can stamp and then fold into a souvenir Artist’s Book copy.

‘Sum of Parts’ was curated by Elizabeth McLean.
